Adiantum (Venus hair)

Adiantum (Venus hair) maidenhair

Adiantum can safely be called the most sophisticated and delicate plant of all ferns. Venus hair leaves are often used to create beautiful, sophisticated wedding bouquets. However, one very important feature of adiantum should be noted: its leaves fade very quickly after they are cut.

Adiantum is a perennial fern whose height reaches sixty centimeters. The plant has a short creeping rhizome covered with narrow black scales. The petioles of the leaves are quite tall, their color is black-brown and rather thin. The leaf blade is painted in light green tones. In Russia, this plant can only be seen in the North Caucasus. Adiantum is widespread in Western Europe, Central Asia, Africa and America.

Growing

This plant is located near the banks of mountain rivers, in rock cracks, near water and waterfalls. However, this plant can be grown quite easily at home.

As for lighting, this plant does not require direct sunlight. It will be optimal to grow adiantum on window sills located on the north side. If you grow this plant in a greenhouse, then they grow just fine there.<
