Forget-me-not is one of the plants of the family called borage; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Myosotis palustris.

As for the name of the marsh forget-me-not family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Boraginaceae Juss.

Description of the marsh forget-me-not

Forget-me-not is a perennial herbaceous plant whose height will vary between twenty and seventy centimeters. This plant can be either almost naked or bristly-pubescent, and is also rhizomatous. Typically, the marsh forget-me-not is endowed with single, ascending or erect stems, and the leaves of this plant, in turn, will be either linear-lanceolate or lanceolate. It is noteworthy that such leaves can also be spatulate, in addition they will be sharp or blunt, their length is about three to eight centimeters, and their width is one to two centimeters. One-third of the calyx of this plant will be divided into wide triangular teeth, it will be narrowly bell-shaped, and will be pubescent by means of adjacent, short and straight hairs. The corolla of the marsh forget-me-not is painted in blue tones, but it can be either white or pink, and its diameter will be about six to eleven millimeters. After the corolla falls off, the stigma will immediately emerge from the calyx. The fruits of the marsh forget-me-not are nuts without a seed, which will be colored black.

This plant blooms in the summer. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia, Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as in the European part of Russia, with the exception of Crimea and the Lower Volga region. For its growth, the marsh forget-me-not prefers wet meadows, swamps, forests, and the banks of reservoirs, ranging from lowlands to the mid-mountain zone. This plant is also decorative.

Description of the medicinal properties of forget-me-not marsh

Forget-me-not is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the grass of this plant, the juice and powder of the above-ground part of this plant. The concept of grass includes the stems, flowers and leaves of this plant. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of lipids, fatty acids and alkaloids in this plant. The seeds will contain higher aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Tea based on the herb of this plant is recommended to be used as a diaphoretic for various respiratory infections. A decoction prepared from the forget-me-not herb in the form of lotions should be used for eye diseases. It is noteworthy that the essential extract of this plant will exhibit both antifungal and antibacterial activity.

For respiratory infections, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a healing remedy, you will need to take three tablespoons of dry crushed forget-me-not herb per half liter of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should be infused for one hour, after which the mixture should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting medicine based on forget-me-not marsh in a warm form three to four times a day, half a glass or one third of it. It is important to note that to achieve the greatest effectiveness when taking such a medicine based on forget-me-nots, it is very important to follow all the rules for preparing this remedy, as well as follow all the rules for its administration.
