Description of Russian solyanka

Russian solyanka is known by the following popular names: salted grass, potashnik, ash pan and kurai. Russian Solyanka is an annual weed whose height will vary between twenty and eighty centimeters. The stems of this plant are splayed and branched, for this reason, when fruiting, the plant will be endowed with a spherical tumbleweed shape. The leaves of Russian solyanka will be linear and they are endowed with a spiny base. The flowers are quite small in size, they will be solitary and endowed with a simple perianth, they are five-membered and are in a spike-shaped inflorescence. The fruits of this plant are winged nuts, which in turn will be endowed with shiny pinkish wings. It should be noted that by autumn Russian solyanka becomes a very thorny plant.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Caucasus, Ukraine, the European part of Russia, Moldova and Belarus. As for the general distribution, Russian solyanka can be found in Asia Minor and Western Europe.

Description of the medicinal properties of Russian solyanka

Russian Solyanka is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The term grass includes leaves, stems and flowers. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of the carbohydrate polysaccharide in this plant, which, upon hydrolysis, will produce xylose, arabinose, galactose, rhamnose, amino sugar and galacturonic acid, and also contains betaine, alkaloids, saponins and organic acids succinic and oxalic. The seeds of Russian solyanka, in turn, contain fatty oil, while the aerial part contains flavonoids, alkaloids and samsolin.

As for traditional medicine, here this plant is very widespread. An aqueous infusion based on Russian solyanka is indicated for use in cases of general weakness of the body, and is also used as an anthelmintic, diaphoretic and mild laxative. It is noteworthy that the fatty oil of the seeds of this plant turned out to be suitable for the paint and varnish industry, as well as for cooking drying oil.

To prepare a very effective aqueous infusion based on Russian solyanka, which is used for general weakness of the body, you will need the following: take one tablespoon of crushed herbs of this plant per about three hundred milliliters of boiling water. The resulting medicinal mixture should first be left to infuse for about two hours, after which this mixture must be filtered very carefully. The resulting medicine based on Russian solyanka is taken not only for general weakness of the body, but also at elevated temperatures. To do this, drink a healing remedy based on this plant twice a day, regardless of food intake, one tablespoon.

If you have a poor appetite, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a medicine you will need to take one tablespoon of crushed dry Russian solyanka herb per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture is first left to infuse for two hours, after which this medicinal mixture must be filtered very carefully. Take this medicine three times a day before meals, one or two tablespoons.
