Ruta fragrant is one of the plants of the family called Rutaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Ruta graveolens L. (Ruta divaricata Ten.).

Description of fragrant rue
Rue aromatica is a perennial shrub, colored in gray-green tones. Such a bush will branch out at the very surface of the earth. This plant is endowed with a very peculiar strong aromatic smell, and its height will fluctuate between fifty and one hundred centimeters. The stems of Rue aromatica are erect and numerous. The leaves of this plant are alternate, they are colored in bluish-green tones, while the lower and middle leaves will be petiolate, they can be either double-pinnate or triple-pinnate, and are also oblong-obovate and splayed. At the top, the lobes of such leaves will be rounded and they are endowed with translucent dotted glands. The upper leaves of Rue aromatica are pinnately dissected and sessile, they will be endowed with linear-lanceolate lobes. The flowers of this plant are colored greenish-yellow, they are on rather short stalks and are collected in a thyroid panicle. There are only five sepals of fragrant rue; they will be sharp and ovate-lanceolate in shape. The corolla of this plant has only five petals; they will be concave and equipped with rather long marigolds. There are ten stamens of this plant, the pistil will be endowed with a short style and a five-lobed upper ovary. The fruit of this plant is a blunt-lobed capsule, which in turn is studded with glands.
This plant blooms from June to July. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Crimea, the Middle East and all southern regions of Europe. To grow, this plant prefers sunny places, as well as light and well-permeable soil for both air and moisture. As for the propagation of this plant, this process occurs through cuttings. At the same time, fragrant rue can also be grown from seeds in the garden.
It should be noted that this plant is very poisonous and for this reason, strict care should be taken when handling odorous rue.
Description of the medicinal properties of fragrant rue
Ruta is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the leaves of this plant for medicinal purposes. Such healing raw materials should be harvested from June to July.
The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of rutin, essential oil, bitter and tannin substances, furocoumarins, bergapten, as well as the following alkaloids in this plant: arborinite, rutalinidin, cocusaginin, rutacridone, gamma-fagirin, rutalinium, rutamine, skimmianin and ribolinidine.
As for traditional medicine, here this plant is quite widespread. Ruta has the ability to enhance menstruation, improve digestion and appetite, and is also endowed with analgesic, antiseptic, wound healing, tonic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects. An infusion based on fragrant rue leaves is used as a sedative for the nervous system and as a tonic. This infusion is also used for a rush of blood to the head, various neuroses, dizziness and palpitations. When used correctly, the positive effect is noticeable quite quickly.
