What is the difference between category M and A, A1
The main difference between category M and the already existing A and A1 is considered to be the engine volume of vehicles.
- Category A1. Allows you to drive a light motorcycle with a 125 cubic meter engine. It is announced for a driver who has reached the age of sixteen;
- Category A applies to standard all-terrain vehicles with an engine capacity of 125 cc, which are likely to be incompletely equipped with a sidecar. A license of this standard can only be obtained later, at age 18.
Undoubtedly, the new issue has essentially filled a vacant niche that had been overlooked until recently. As practice has noted improved technological advances and new models of progressive motorcycles, they have left legislators with no choice. Small scooters, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h, have become full-fledged road users and have urgently required compliance with all the important formalities that have long been adopted as a model in other countries.
How to get a category M license
Having a driver’s license of a higher category does not require any checks. Understanding the rules of the road and proven ability to ride a simple bicycle indicate that an experienced cyclist likely possesses practical skills. Inexperienced owners of small vehicles eager to continue driving on the roads are waiting for the right intervention:
Enrollment in a driving school;

- Passing internal exams;
- Checking with the MREO and obtaining a driver’s license.
