Description of marsh calestania

Marsh calestania is a perennial herbaceous plant whose height can reach one hundred and twenty centimeters. The stem of this plant is ribbed, and in the upper part it will be branched. Together with the leaves, such a stem is bare, while inside it will be hollow, and at the base it is painted in dark purple tones. The height of such a stem of this plant will be about fifty to one hundred and twenty centimeters. The lower leaves of marsh calestania are on long petioles, and at the very base they will be broadly triangular, with a length of seven to forty centimeters and a width of three to forty centimeters. The leaves of this plant can be either triple-pinnate or double-pinnate. At the end of the stem the umbrella will be larger than on the branches; the length in diameter will be about five to ten centimeters. The involucre will consist of seven to twelve leaves, the diameter of the umbrellas will be about two centimeters, the teeth of the calyx are quite short, and the petals are painted white. Such petals will be almost round, at the top they are notched, the length and width will be approximately one and a half centimeters. The fruits will be broadly elliptical in shape, their length is five millimeters and their width is about three millimeters.

The flowering of marsh calestania occurs from July to August, while the seeds ripen in August-September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Western Siberia, Belarus, the Carpathians and the Dnieper region of Ukraine, as well as in the Volga region and North-West Russia. For growth, the plant prefers lowland swamps, swampy forests and places along river banks.

Description of the medicinal properties of marsh calestania

Marsh calestania is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes the stems, flowers and leaves of this plant.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of essential oil in the roots of this plant, while the herb contains quercetin, rutin, kaempferol and quercetin glycosides. The fruits of calestania bog contain an essential oil that contains camphene, alpha-pinene, limonene, terpinolene, sabinene, alpha-thuyene and beta-pinene.

The plant is endowed with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, fixative, antispasmodic and expectorant effects. In the form of an infusion or decoction, calestania is used for epilepsy, whooping cough, angina pectoris, toothache, cough and suffocation.

It should be noted that in cooking this plant can be used as a substitute for ginger.

The following remedy should be used as a fixative and diuretic: to prepare such a remedy, it is recommended to take two heaped tablespoons of crushed dry herbs of this plant per half liter of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for three to four minutes over low heat, and then the mixture is infused for two hours, after which it is carefully filtered. Take the resulting remedy based on calestania marsh, two tablespoons.

In a similar way, the prepared remedy is taken one third of a glass three times a day before meals for bronchitis, whooping cough, angina pectoris, epilepsy, toothache and asthma attacks.
