Neslia paniculata is a member of the Brassicaceae or Cruciferae family. Its Latin name is Neslia paniculata (L) Desv. (Myagrum paniculatum L.).
The family name itself is Brassicaceae Burnett (Cruciferae Juss.).

Neslia paniculata is an annual herbaceous plant, reaching heights between twenty and eighty centimeters. Its stem is erect and branched. Its leaves are oblong-lanceolate, distantly serrated, and cauline with a sagittate base. The flowers in this plant’s racemes are regular and four-membered, borne in a fairly long truss. The petals of Nesliya paniculata are yellow. The fruit of this plant is a spherical, single-seeded, and single-locular pod.
In the wild, Nesliya paniculata is found in Crimea, Belarus, Central Asia, Moldova, the Caucasus, European Russia, Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as Sakhalin, the Amur region, and Primorye in the Far East. Generally, this plant can be found in Canada, Scandinavia, and Central Europe. Nesliya paniculata prefers gravel, slopes, fields, sandy substrates, crops, garbage dumps, and saline loams.
Description of the medicinal properties of Nesliya paniculata
Nesliya paniculata has very valuable medicinal properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The herb includes the leaves, flowers, and stems of this plant. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties can be attributed to the flavonoids found in this plant, while the fruits contain fatty oil, isothiocyanates, and the thioglycoside cheirolin.
An infusion made from the herb of Nessila paniculata is recommended for various spleen ailments and scurvy. A decoction of the leaves of this plant is also used for spleen ailments, and fresh crushed Nessila paniculata leaves are used externally for boils, tumors, and wounds. For skin lesions, the fatty oil from the fruits of this plant should be used. Interestingly, a blue dye can be obtained from the leaves of Nessila paniculata.
For spleen diseases, the following remedy based on this plant is recommended: to prepare this remedy, take one tablespoon of crushed Nessila paniculata herb per one cup of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should be steeped for approximately two hours, after which it should be thoroughly strained.
