Delphinium dictyocarpum is a perennial herbaceous plant with a straight stem, which grows between sixty and one hundred centimeters tall. Its flowers are blue in color, have a horizontal spur, and are collected in dense, multi-flowered racemes. The fruit of delphinium dictyocarpum consists of three multi-seeded leaflets. The flowering period of the common larkspur lasts from July to August, with the fruits ripening between August and September. In the wild, the plant is found in Central Asia, as well as in the Volga-Kama and Trans-Volga regions of European Russia. It is also found in the following regions of Western Siberia: the Irtysh, Altai, and Verkhne-Tobolsk. The plant prefers rocky slopes, shrub thickets, steppe and dry meadows, gorges and river floodplains, the peaks of low mountains, and subalpine meadows.

In folk medicine, an infusion of this plant’s herb is widely used as an anti-inflammatory for various liver and kidney ailments, intestinal disorders, pleurisy, and pneumonia. A poultice made from an infusion of the flowers or the herb is recommended for blepharitis and conjunctivitis.
Preparations based on this plant should be used for diseases of the central nervous system, multiple sclerosis and increased tone of striated muscles. An infusion of the herb Larkspur reticularis is endowed with insecticidal properties, which makes it possible to use this product to destroy a variety of insect pests and insect parasites of agricultural crops.
It should be remembered that the plants are poisonous; for this reason, extreme caution should be exercised when taking products based on Larkspur reticularis.
For multiple sclerosis, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy, take one teaspoon of the herb per three glasses of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for eight hours in a sealed container in a warm place, after which this mixture is filtered very carefully. Take the resulting product based on Larkspur reticularis, one-third of a glass or half a glass three to four times a day.
For lotions for blepharitis and conjunctivitis, you should use an infusion in the form of lotions: ten grams of the herb are taken in a glass of boiling water, infused for thirty minutes and filtered thoroughly. This infusion can be taken one tablespoon three times a day for intestinal disorders and increased tone of the striated muscles.
