Blue broomrape is a perennial herbaceous plant whose height reaches forty centimeters. The plant will be whitish in color and also cobwebby and woolly. The stem of this plant is colored in yellowish tones, at the very base it will be club-shaped thickened, and it is also covered with lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate scales, the length of which reaches twenty millimeters. The bluish broomrape inflorescence will be quite dense and cylindrical. The length of the corolla is fifteen to twenty millimeters, it is tubular and colored blue or purple.

The bluish broomrape blooms from May to June. Under natural conditions, the plant is found in the European part of Russia in the Volga region, as well as in the Dnieper region of Ukraine, in Moldova, in the Aral-Caspian region of Central Asia, as well as in Western and Eastern Siberia and in the following regions of the Far East: Sakhalin, Primorye and Amur region. For growth, the plant prefers scree, sea terraces, dry pine and mixed forests, arable lands, rocky and gravelly slopes. It is noteworthy that the bluish broomrape will parasitize species of the genus Artemisia.

Description of the medicinal properties of broomrape

Broomrape is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and flowers and roots should be used for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of alkaloids in the plant.

As for traditional medicine, an infusion of the roots and aerial parts of this plant is quite widespread. Such products are recommended to be used as a tonic and general strengthening agent. In the form of a decoction, broomrape herb is used as a diuretic. An infusion of the flowers of this plant is recommended for use for various kidney diseases, intoxications and sepsis.

As a diuretic, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on broomrape: to prepare such a remedy you will need to take one teaspoon of crushed roots of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be left to infuse for one hour, after which this mixture should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting product one tablespoon four to five times a day before meals.

For cystitis, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on broomrape: to prepare such a remedy, take two teaspoons of the flowers of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be left to infuse for one hour, after which this mixture is filtered very carefully. Take the resulting remedy based on bluish broomrape, two tablespoons three to four times a day. It is important to remember that in order to achieve the greatest effectiveness when taking such products based on broomrape, you should carefully observe not only all the conditions for preparing such products, but also strictly follow all the rules for taking such a product.

It is noteworthy that due to the fact that the chemical composition of the plant has not been fully studied, after a more detailed study of this composition, it is possible that new products based on this plant will appear.
