Description of wormwood

Pontian wormwood is a perennial herbaceous plant. The rhizome of such a plant is creeping, and its thickness will be one and a half to three millimeters. The height of the stem of Pontian wormwood will vary between forty and one hundred centimeters; such a stem is erect and herbaceous, while the lower part of this stem will be densely leafy. The baskets of such a plant will be almost spherical, their width is two and a half to four millimeters, they are drooping and very close together in a narrow paniculate inflorescence. The marginal flowers of Pontian wormwood will be pistillate, there are only twelve of them, the corolla of this plant is narrow-tubular, and it will be widened towards the bottom. The flowers of the disk of this plant are quite numerous: there are only forty to forty-five of them; such flowers will be bisexual and partly underdeveloped. The corolla of Artemisia pontica will be bare and conical.

This plant blooms in August. Under natural conditions, Pontian wormwood is found in the Caucasus, Central Asia, Western Siberia, Crimea, as well as the following regions of the European part of Russia: Lower Don, Volga-Kama, Volga-Don and Zavolzhsky regions. For growth, this plant prefers river banks, forests, steppe shrubs, forest edges, clearings, slopes of river valleys, dry saline and saline meadows.

Description of the medicinal properties of Pontian wormwood

Pontian wormwood is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the juice and herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes inflorescences, stems and leaves. The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of coumarins, rubber, essential oil and polyacetylene compounds in this plant.

It is noteworthy that the experiment proved that the essential oil of this plant will be endowed with very effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. This essential oil, depending on the degree of its concentration, has the ability to exhibit fungicidal and bacteriostatic activity, and is also indicated for use as a source of azulene. Infusion and tincture prepared from the herb wormwood will be endowed with anthelmintic properties.

It is worth noting that in Bulgaria, wormwood is used as a composite of raw materials for the preparation of a drug called maraslavin.

As for traditional medicine, a decoction and infusion prepared from the herb of this plant will be used as an expectorant, anthelmintic, appetite stimulant and digestive improver. Also, such drugs are used for amenorrhea and are used as a tonic for various nervous diseases and fever.

Powder based on the herb Artemisia Pontica is used as a wound healing agent, and the inflorescences in the form of poultices are used for tumors of the scrotum.

If you have a poor appetite, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy you will need to take one teaspoon of crushed Pontian wormwood herb per three hundred milliliters of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for about two to three minutes, and then this mixture is infused for one hour and filtered very carefully. Take this remedy before meals two to three times a day, one-third of a glass.
