Pueraria Mirifica
Pueraria Mirifica (Latin: Pueraria Mirifica) is a climbing plant, a member of the genus Pueraria (Latin: Pueraria) in the legume family (Latin: Fabaceae).
This species is called “miraculous” for a reason. The white flesh of the plant’s tubers is considered the “elixir of youth,” which Western alchemists have vainly sought for centuries. In the East, people have known and used this remedy since ancient times, enjoying enviable longevity.
What’s in a name?
Although it is common knowledge that the Latin genus name “Pueraria” was given to the plants in honor of a Swiss botanist named Marc Nicolas Puerari, who described many vegetable crops in the first half of the 19th century, the Latin word “Puer” is also translated into other languages as “child” or “boy.” This meaning of the Latin genus name, paired with the species name “Mirifica,” has led some to interpret the origin of the plant’s name as coming from the Latin “puer,” meaning “child” or “boy,” and the Latin word “mirificus,” which translates as “wonderful,” “wonderful,” or “adventure.”
In Thailand, where the plant has been highly revered since at least the 13th century AD, it is known as “Kwao Krua Kao,” where “Kao” means “white.” The white color distinguishes this species from other tuberous-rooted species in the genus, which are usually called red, gray, or black.
Traditional Thai folk medicine has used the dried and crushed tubers of the “Pueraria Mirifica” plant as a rejuvenating remedy for both women and men since ancient times.
Description
The aboveground parts of this species differ little from those of its relatives. This is the same fast-growing vine, whose stems are covered with compound leaves consisting of three leaflets. The leaflets, however, are very smooth and neat, rounded-ovate, with clearly defined veins.
The inflorescence, in the form of a raceme, is formed by blue or violet-blue flowers of a typical legume shape. The flowers are bisexual, and after pollination, they transform into bean pods, the surface of which is covered with hairs.
The most valuable part of Pueraria Mirifica are its roots, from which tubers form that possess simply magical properties.
What is most valuable about Pueraria Mirifica tubers?
Among the numerous beneficial components contained in the tubers, a special place is occupied by two phytoestrogens, which to date have been found only in Pueraria miraculous. These are Deoxymiroestrol and Miroestrol, which can become an alternative to hormonal therapy in the treatment of diseases such as cancer.
Thus, the American doctor Harry Gordon, who came to Thailand to conduct research on the treatment of breast cancer with the help of Pueraria miraculous, was impressed by the rarity of this disease and the longevity of the people inhabiting the territory where this plant grows. Although longevity, of course, is influenced by many factors, and not just the magical properties of Pueraria.
Despite the fact that Pueraria miraculous, as scientific research shows, has a beneficial effect on many diseases, today there is a special boom around the tubers for their ability to increase breast size. Beauties with large breasts featured on television and glossy magazines are fueling interest in ointments; tablets; capsules filled with dried and finely ground roots mixed with other medicinal herbs, and other preparations containing extracts of this plant.

In addition to the above-described demand for Pueraria wonderful tubers, the plant is capable of:

* relax tired muscles and nervous tension;
* have a beneficial effect on the human circulatory system, reducing high blood pressure, reducing the proportion of “bad” cholesterol and the amount of sugar in the blood;
* maintain the firmness and elasticity of the skin, thereby prolonging the external youth of a person.
