The stems of this plant are erect and simple, they will be endowed with paniculate inflorescences consisting of curls that are located at the very top. The flowers of the common blueberry are quite small in size, funnel-shaped, beautiful and colored in bright blue tones, while the buds will be pink.

The fruits of the common bruise are blunt-tubercular nuts, colored brownish. This plant blooms from May to July.

Under natural conditions, the common bruise is found in the Crimea, Western Siberia, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Belarus and the European part of Russia. For growth, this plant prefers the steppe zone, dry slopes, wastelands, forest strips, ravines and places along roads.

Description of the medicinal properties of common bruise

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of saponins and the following very poisonous alkaloids in this plant: consolicin, consolidine, choline and cynoglossin.

An infusion prepared from the common bruise herb is indicated for use in epilepsy and poisonous snake bites, and is also used as an expectorant for whooping cough and whooping cough. In Belarus, it is recommended to boil the herb of this plant and then apply it to sore spots for rheumatism and sprained tendons.
