Description of silverweed
The hoary cinquefoil is a perennial herbaceous plant, the height of which will fluctuate between ten and sixty-five centimeters. Such a plant will be endowed with a rather powerful rhizome. The stems of the silverweed are straight, and they are covered with rather long hairs. The root and lower stem leaves of this plant are palmate, while the upper stem leaves will be short-petiolate, three to five-parted. The leaves of the cinquefoil are painted in green tones, they will be thinly gray-haired below, and sparsely hairy above. The sepals of this plant will be sharp, and the petals will be slightly longer than the sepals and they will be colored yellow.
Grey-colored cinquefoil blooms from July to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in all regions of the European part of Russia and Western Siberia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova, as well as in the Amur region in the Far East and in the Angara-Sayan region of Eastern Siberia. For growth, the plant prefers dry meadows, fields, fallow lands, places along the edges of roads, steppes and steppe meadows.
Description of the medicinal properties of silverweed
Cinquefoil is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the leaves, rhizomes, stems and flowers of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of traces of an alkaloid in the rhizomes and flowers of this plant, while vitamin C will be present in the leaves and flowers. A decoction prepared from the rhizomes of silverweed is recommended for use for diarrhea, hematuria and menorrhagia. The herb of this plant is used topically for laryngitis.
To prepare a decoction based on the roots of this plant, you will need to take three teaspoons of silverweed roots per glass of water. For laryngitis, it is recommended to gargle with the following solution based on silverweed: to prepare such a healing remedy, it is recommended to take three tablespoons of dry crushed herb of this plant per two glasses of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should be boiled for about two hours, and then this medicine based on silverweed should be filtered very carefully.
