White sweet clover is known by the following popular names: biliy berkun, gunba, gunoba, white berkun, Verkin grass and male sweet clover. White clover is a biennial herbaceous plant. The stem of this plant is straight and bare, its height will fluctuate between thirty and one hundred and fifty centimeters. The leaves of the white sweet clover are pinnate and they are endowed with subulate-shaped stipules, the leaflets of the lower leaves will be obovate, the rest will be oblong and serrate-finely toothed. The flowers of this plant are small and white in color, they are moth-type and are collected in rather long axillary racemes.

The herb is endowed with a very specific aromatic smell and salty-bitter taste. The very smell of this plant is very reminiscent of the smell of hay, which is explained by the presence of the fragrant substance coumarin in the composition of this plant. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the European part of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Siberia, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Kazakhstan. For growth, this plant prefers ravines, dry wastelands, slopes, and places on the outskirts of fields and roads.

Description of the medicinal properties of white clover

White sweet clover contains coumarin, alkaloids, essential oil and other substances. For medicinal purposes, it is recommended to use the herb of this plant, which should be harvested during the month of July-August. The concept of grass of this plant includes flowers, leaves and stems.

As for traditional medicine, it is recommended to use an infusion prepared from the herb of this plant for headaches, malaria, cough, fever, and various colds. Also, this remedy is taken as a diuretic for edema, and it is also used to increase milk production in nursing women and even for epilepsy. The literature contains evidence that this drug can be used as an anticoagulant.

It is recommended to prepare an ointment based on the flowers and leaves of white sweet clover, which will be endowed with very valuable wound-healing properties. It should be noted that the internal use of this plant requires certain caution, which is due to the fact that this plant is poisonous.

If you are prone to blood clots, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on white clover; to prepare such a remedy, you should take one tablespoon of the herb of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be left to infuse for thirty to forty minutes, after which the mixture is carefully filtered. This remedy is taken half a glass three times a day before meals.

For boils and joint diseases, it is recommended to use the following remedy: to prepare it, mix equal parts of the inflorescences of this plant and butter. For baths and compresses, the following remedy is recommended: take two tablespoons of the herb of this plant in half a liter of water, after which this mixture is infused for ten minutes in a closed container on a hot stove.

It is recommended to use the following remedy as an ointment for ripening abscesses: to prepare it, take two tablespoons of the flowers of this plant, which are ground with two to three tablespoons of fresh butter.
