Features of growing homemade aichrizon
As for the most preferable light regime, this plant will develop favorably in the sun, but slight partial shade is also acceptable. In summer, the plant will need to be provided with moderate watering. Air humidity is also preferable in an average ratio. The life form of this plant is a succulent.
Aichrizon home is recommended for cultivation not only in residential premises, but also in numerous general purpose premises: such as halls and offices. Also, the plant can often be found in greenhouses and cool winter gardens. As for greenhouses, here aichrizon domestica is found in collections of subtropical plants.
In indoor conditions, the plant can develop well for one to five years. It is noteworthy that in greenhouse conditions this plant will live much longer: even several decades.
In cultivation, the plant can reach up to thirty centimeters in height, and the diameter of the crown will fluctuate between fifteen and thirty centimeters. Aichrizon home should be replanted every spring: it is recommended to do this only when the roots fill the entire volume of the pot’s soil. As for the composition of the soil mixture itself, you will need to mix turf, leaf soil and sand: one part of turf soil and sand, as well as three parts of leaf soil. In addition, soil intended for cacti should also be added to this mixture.
It is important to remember that the stem of aichrizona domestica will branch without necessarily pinching. For this reason, pinching will only be required when it is necessary to adjust the size of the crown of this plant. Aichrizon domestica can be formed both as a shrub and as a tree with a bare stem.
It’s worth noting that this plant requires bright, but diffused, light for optimal growth. For this reason, it’s recommended to choose either an east- or west-facing window. If you plan to grow the plant on a north-facing window, additional lighting is necessary. If you prefer to grow the indoor aichryson on a south-facing window, additional shade should be provided. The optimal growing temperature is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius.
The plant requires regular, but moderate watering. Therefore, wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. It’s also important to remember that the plant will not tolerate even the slightest drying out of the soil. You can also determine whether watering is necessary by the elasticity of the shoots. If the stem springs back even when slightly bent, the plant doesn’t need watering yet. It’s worth noting that indoor aichryson can also tolerate relatively dry indoor air. Throughout this plant’s active growth period, which lasts from April to August, regular fertilizing is required. This fertilizing should be done with a fertilizer designed for cacti and succulents. Fertilizing should be done every two weeks.
It’s important to remember that indoor aichryson requires at least twelve hours of light. If natural light is insufficient, extend the daylight hours with fluorescent lamps.
