Description of Kitagavia Baikal

Kitagavia Baikal is a perennial herbaceous plant, the height of which will fluctuate between thirty and one hundred centimeters. The stem of this plant is ribbed, usually it is also highly branched, and together with the leaves, such a stem is bare. The leaves of Kitagavia Baikal will be double-pinnate and harsh, and their color will be grayish-green. The basal leaves of this plant are numerous, with the upper leaves either being smaller or less dissected. The leaves of Kitagavia Baikalensis are on vaginal petioles, which will be very tightly pressed to the stem. The umbrellas of this plant are numerous, they are collected at the ends of both stems and branches into an almost corymbose inflorescence, endowed with ten to twenty-five pubescent rays. The length in diameter will be about ten to thirty centimeters, the length of the petals will be equal to one and a half millimeters, they are obversely heart-shaped, and the petals of Kitagavia Baikal are painted in white tones. The fruits of this plant are broadly elliptical, their length is four to five millimeters, and their width is about three and a half to four millimeters.

Kitagavia Baikalensis blooms from June to August. Under natural conditions, this plant can be found in Western and Eastern Siberia. For growth, the plant prefers sandy soil, steppe slopes and dry steppe forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of Kitagavia Baikal

Kitagavia Baikal is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the flowers and roots of this plant for medicinal purposes.

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of coumarins in the roots, while the herb will contain essential oil, which contains p-cymene and coumarins. Coumarins and quercetin were found in the leaves and inflorescences of this plant. The fruits of Kitagavia baicalensis contain essential oil and the following coumarins: isopimpinellin, peucedanin and imperatorin.

As for Tibetan medicine, a decoction prepared from the roots and flowers of this plant is quite widespread here. This very effective remedy is recommended for use in cases of intoxication of various origins, and also as a diuretic for edema.

For edema, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on Kitagavia baicalensis: to prepare such a remedy you will need to take one tablespoon of crushed roots per three hundred milliliters of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for about five minutes over fairly low heat, then the mixture is left to infuse for one hour, after which the mixture based on this plant should be filtered very carefully. For swelling, this remedy is taken three times a day before meals, one or two tablespoons. It is also recommended to take this remedy based on Kitagavia Baikal in cases of intoxication; in this case, the dosage rate will be approximately one third of a glass or half a glass three times a day.
