Purple mullein

Purple mullein is one of the plants of the family called Noricaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Vebroscum phoeniceum L.
As for the name of the violet mullein family itself, in Latin it will be: Scrophulariaceae Juss.
Description of purple mullein
Purple mullein is a perennial herbaceous plant, endowed with an erect, multi-leaved or leafless stem, which will also be glandular-pubescent in its upper part. The basal leaves of this plant are petiolate and slightly pubescent, they will be in a rosette, can be oblong-ovate to heart-shaped in shape, and will also be either almost entire or large-edged. The flowers are in a sparse, simple cluster. The corolla is painted in purple tones, the filaments of the stamens are also endowed with purple hairs, while the hairs of the rear stamens can sometimes be white. The fruit of this plant is an ovoid capsule that will be bare for the most part.
Purple mullein blooms at the beginning and middle of summer. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Ukraine, Central Asia, Belarus, in all regions of Western Siberia with the exception of Ob, as well as in all regions of the European part of Russia except for Dvina-Pechora, Karelo-Murmansk and Ladoga-Ilmen. As for the general distribution, this plant can be found in Central Europe, Northern Iran and the Balkans. For growth, the plant prefers places near roads, steppes, sandy and grassy slopes.
Description of the medicinal properties of purple mullein
Purple mullein is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes stems, leaves and flowers. The presence of such valuable healing properties of purple mullein should be explained by the content of tannins, coumarins, saponins, aucubin, catapol, vitamin C, verbascenin and hesperidin in this plant.
It should be noted that this plant has been recommended for clinical trials as a laxative, cardiotonic and diuretic. An infusion prepared from violet mullein flowers is recommended for use as a very valuable anti-inflammatory agent. It is noteworthy that in veterinary medicine this plant is used as a lactogenic agent.
As a diuretic, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on violet mullein: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take one tablespoon of crushed dry herbs of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for about one to two hours, and then the mixture should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting product based on this plant three to four times a day, one-third of a glass.
For a variety of colds, dry coughs, acute respiratory diseases and diseases of the upper respiratory tract, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on common mullein, for the preparation of which you need to take one teaspoon of the flowers of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for one hour, and then filtered very carefully. Take this remedy based on purple mullein, warm, three to four times a day, half a glass. If taken correctly, a positive result will be noticeable quite quickly.
