Rhododendron yellow

Yellow rhododendron is one of the plants of the heather family; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Rhododendron luteum Sweet. (Azalea pontica L., Rododendron Havum T. Don.).

Description of yellow rhododendron
Yellow rhododendron is a shrub whose height can reach up to two meters. The leaves of this plant are oblong-obovate, thin, oblong-elliptical, ciliated, they can be either bare or fluffy on both sides. The length of yellow rhododendron leaves will be about five and a half to twelve centimeters, and the width will be two to eight centimeters. The flowers of this plant are collected in umbrella-shaped shields, the corolla can be painted in both yellow and orange tones, and on the outside such a corolla will be glandular, its length is three to four and a half centimeters. The corolla tube of yellow rhododendron is narrowly cylindrical, at the top it will be widened, and the lobes themselves will be oblong. The capsule of this plant is also oblong, and its length will be about one and a half to two centimeters.
Yellow rhododendron blooms from May to June. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Caucasus, Belarus, the Carpathians and the Dnieper region of Ukraine. As for the general distribution, this plant can be found in Asia Minor, the Balkans and Poland. For growth, this plant prefers mountains, forests and forest edges up to an altitude of two thousand meters above sea level. It is noteworthy that quite often yellow rhododendron will form thickets.
Description of the medicinal properties of yellow rhododendron
Yellow rhododendron is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the roots and grass of this plant for medicinal purposes. The term grass includes leafy stems, flowers and leaves. the presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of phenols, tannins, essential oil, sitosterol, flavonoids, aldehydes, aromatic acids, phenolcarboxylic acids, phenols, coumarins, triterpenoids, cardenolides and the diterpenoid andromedotoxin in this plant.
An infusion prepared from the aerial part of yellow rhododendron will be endowed with very valuable antibacterial properties. The infusion and tincture of the leaves of this plant are endowed with sedative properties, have the ability to provide a bactericidal effect on putrefactive bacteria and staphylococcus, and will also have a cardiotonic effect. It is noteworthy that the essential oil of rhododendron yellow will have the ability to have an inhibitory effect on the growth and development of tuberculosis bacillus.
It should be noted that the experiment proved that a tincture based on this plant will increase performance. In addition, the experiment showed that the polyphenolic complex will have a hypotensive effect, and the amount of flavonoids in the leaves of rhododendron yellow will have a very effective anti-inflammatory and choleretic effect.
As for traditional medicine, it is recommended to use a decoction prepared from the roots of this plant in the form of baths; it is indicated for use for scabies in humans and animals. An infusion based on the roots is also used internally for rheumatism. Veterinary medicine uses a tincture of leaves in small doses: such a remedy will have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and gastrointestinal tract of cattle, and cattle should be bathed in a decoction of yellow rhododendron leaves in case of scabies.
