White sandman is known by the following popular names: constipated grass, tooth grass, tooth grass, borage, click beetle, firecrackers and wood cockle. White Sandman is a biennial herbaceous plant endowed with a rounded, poisonous, hairy stem. The height of such a stem will be about forty to eighty centimeters. The lower leaves are elliptical and taper into a petiole. The upper leaves will be sessile and lanceolate. The flowers of white slumber are painted in white tones; they are located in a loose paniculate inflorescence. The flowers can be either unisexual or bisexual; they are on thin stalks, and the calyx is bare and oval, bubble-like, swollen. The corolla consists of five deeply bipartite petals; its color will be violet-green.

The white slumber fruit is an ovoid capsule that will open at the apex with ten straight teeth. It is worth noting that the box contains quite a lot of seeds. This plant blooms from early summer to late autumn. Under natural conditions, white slumber can be found in the European part of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Siberia, the North Caucasus and the northern part of Central Asia. For growth, this plant prefers fallow lands, forest edges, meadows, wastelands, places near roads and ditches, in crops, orchards and vegetable gardens.

Description of the healing properties of white slumber

White sandpaper is endowed with quite valuable healing properties. The presence of such medicinal properties is explained by the presence of flavonoids, carbohydrates, vitamin C, phenolcarboxylic acids, and triterpene saponins in this plant.

The plant is endowed with emollient, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, mild hypnotic and sedative effects. As for the water infusion of this plant, it should be used for gastritis, neuralgia and insomnia. It is recommended to rinse your mouth with a warm water infusion of this plant for toothache.

Crushed white dream grass is used in the form of poultices: such poultices are applied to gland tumors in order to soften them, and are also applied to hemorrhoidal cones in order to relieve pain.

As for traditional medicine, here an aqueous decoction of the root of white slumber has become quite widespread. This remedy is effective for palpitations, kidney disease and articular rheumatism. A decoction of the herb is recommended for use for uterine bleeding, epilepsy and umbilical hernia. A decoction of white napkin seeds is recommended for use against intestinal tumors.

For palpitations, articular rheumatism and nephritis, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on this plant: to prepare it, take one teaspoon of dry crushed roots of white sedum per glass of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled over low heat for five to seven minutes, then left to steep for an hour, after which it is carefully filtered. Take this remedy one or two tablespoons three to four times a day.

It is recommended to apply hot pads to hard swellings and hemorrhoidal cones: fresh herbs or dry herbs of this plant are scalded with boiling water and then wrapped in gauze. This remedy is very effective and helps quite quickly.
