Description of white-tomented Dubrovnik

White-tomentose Dubrovnik is a subshrub whose height varies between ten and forty centimeters. This plant is endowed with white-tomentose pubescence, but the stem at the base will be woody. Such a stem is endowed with quite numerous ascending and twisting branches. The leaves of the white-tomentose oakberry are almost sessile; their length can range from half a centimeter to three and a half centimeters. Such leaves can be either linear or lanceolate, they are obtuse and crenate, and also have a wedge-shaped base. White-tomentose flowers are quite small in size, their length ranges from five to eight millimeters. The flowers have a whitish corolla in false whorls, which in turn will form capitate inflorescences.

The flowering of the white-tomented dubrovnik occurs in the summer. Under natural conditions, this plant can be found on the territory of the European part of Russia in the Black Sea region, the Volga region and the lower Don, as well as in Moldova and in the following regions of Ukraine: in the Carpathians, in the Dnieper and Black Sea regions. For growth, the white-tomented Dubrovnik prefers steppes, dry clay and rocky slopes, coastal sand, rocks and screes, as well as chalk outcrops up to the mid-mountain zone. Dubrovnik tomentosa is not only an ornamental plant, but also an insecticide.

Description of the medicinal properties of Dubrovnik white-tomentos

White-tomented Dubrovnik is endowed with quite valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes the leaves, stems and flowers of this plant.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of alkaloids, essential oil, steroids, diterpenoids, iridoids, tannins, flavonoids, vitamin C and coumarins in the plant. The seeds of this plant contain fatty oil.

As for traditional medicine, the extract of the herb Dubrovnik white-tomentose is quite widespread here. This remedy is used for abscesses and mycoses, while a decoction and infusion of the herb is recommended for use in various female diseases, gastralgia, gastrointestinal diseases, anorexia, gastric malnutrition and dysentery, as well as stomach colic, enterocolitis, diarrhea and ailments during pregnancy. Local use of this remedy is possible for eczema.

The essential oil of white-tomento is used as a sedative: this remedy is used for eye diseases.

For gastritis, which is accompanied by reduced secretion, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on white-tomented oakberry: to prepare it you will need to take two tablespoons of crushed dry herbs per half liter of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for one to two hours, and then this mixture should be carefully filtered. Use this remedy half a glass four times a day before meals.

For furunculosis, the following remedy is used: two tablespoons of dry crushed herbs of this plant and agrimony, as well as fifty grams of crushed burdock roots, take half a liter of water, boil and infuse for an hour. This remedy is taken one third of a glass four times a day.
