Description of Eremogone capillaris
Eremogone capillaris is a perennial herbaceous plant, growing approximately five to fifteen centimeters tall. This plant will have a dense turf, with numerous woody shoots extending from the base, containing the remains of dead leaves. The plant also has many erect stems, which are glandular and pubescent. The leaves of Eremogone capillaris are bristly and have revolute margins; these leaves are bright green. The leaves are serrated along the margins, the basal leaves are three to six centimeters long, and the cauline leaves are approximately two to three and a half millimeters long. Flowers are borne in cymes of two to three on bare or glandular-pubescent peduncles. The bracts are narrowly lanceolate, with membranous and pointed margins. The sepals lack a keel, being oval-lanceolate in shape and often dark purple in the center. The sepals are glabrous, five to six millimeters long, and approximately one and a half to two millimeters wide. The petals of Eremogone capillata are oval in shape, rounded at the apex, and are one and a half to two times longer than the calyx.
Eremogone capillata blooms from July to August. In the wild, this plant is found in the Eastern Arctic, as well as in all regions of the Far East, with the exception of Primorsky Krai. It prefers cliffs, dry rocky slopes, and Arctic tundra.
Description of the medicinal properties of Eremogone capillata
Eremogone capillata has quite valuable medicinal properties, and its root, herb, seeds, and flowers are recommended for medicinal use. The term “herb” includes the leaves, flowers, and stems. In folk medicine, a decoction of both the herb and roots is recommended for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, and is also included in complex formulas designed to treat pulmonary diseases.
For pulmonary tuberculosis, the following remedy based on Eremogone capillata is recommended: to prepare this remedy, take one teaspoon of this plant’s roots per glass of water. Boil the resulting mixture over fairly low heat for five to six minutes, then let it steep for one hour. Then add boiled water to bring the original amount up to the original volume and strain thoroughly. Take one tablespoon of this remedy three to four times daily.
Another remedy based on Eremogone capillata can also be used for pulmonary tuberculosis. To prepare this remedy, take one tablespoon of crushed herb or one teaspoon of seeds per glass of water. Simmer the resulting mixture over fairly low heat for three to four minutes, then let it steep for one to two hours, then strain thoroughly. Take this remedy, made from Eremogone capillata, one to two tablespoons three times daily.
