Such devices are actively used in video surveillance systems, as compared to hybrid DVRs they have the following advantages:
- Possibility to expand the architecture. The user can add new cameras and storage systems.
- Work with a large number of video cameras located anywhere in the world where there is Internet or the ability to connect to a network via cable or Wi-Fi.
- Access to data both via a local network and via the Internet.
- Ability to work with high resolution video files.
Such recorders significantly load the local network. In addition, only digital cameras can be connected to them, while hybrid recorders can also work with analog devices, which are still used in many video surveillance systems.
