Cattleya hybrida

Cattleya hybrida is one of the plants of the family called orchids. In Latin, the name of this plant is as follows: Cattleya hybrida.
As for the name of the family itself, in Latin it will be: Orchidaceae.
Description of Cattleya hybrid
It should be noted that this plant is endowed with extraordinary attractiveness, thanks to which hybrid cattleya is chosen by numerous lovers of indoor plants. This plant is not particularly demanding in terms of care, however, it is important to place the hybrid cattleya in the light mode of partial shade. In the summer, it is important for the plant to be provided with abundant watering, and the air humidity should be kept at an average level. The life form of hybrid Cattleya is a herbaceous plant.
This plant is very often found indoors, and for growing it is necessary to choose bright windows, with the exception of windows with a northern orientation. In addition, hybrid cattleya is often grown in florariums, display windows, and also in winter gardens. The maximum size of this crop will be about fifty centimeters.
Description of the features of care and cultivation of hybrid cattleya
As already mentioned, hybrid cattleya is not particularly demanding in care, but certain conditions should be created for growing this plant. It is important not to forget about replanting, which should always be done as the substrate compacts and rots. When replanting the plant, care should be taken to ensure that the roots of the Cattleya hybrida do not become damaged. As for the composition of the soil, it is important to mix two parts fern roots and one part sphagnum, and it is also important to add a little charcoal. It should be noted that sometimes it is quite acceptable to replace fern roots in the soil mixture with pieces of pine bark. In this case, the size of such pieces should be approximately half a centimeter to one and a half centimeters, and in addition to this, it is important to add some dry leaves to the pine bark.
It is also important to remember that, like all orchids, hybrid cattleya will react extremely negatively to any change in the conditions of their maintenance. Throughout the entire rest period, it is necessary to maintain a certain temperature regime: from fifteen to eighteen degrees Celsius. Hybrid cattleya should be watered quite rarely, and air humidity should remain normal. It should be noted that when growing Cattleya hybrida indoors, the dormant period is forced: it begins in October and ends in March. This winter dormant period can be called quite non-standard, because usually the dormant period ends around the month of February.
Reproduction of hybrid Cattleya occurs through division, which should be done even when transplanting this plant.
As for the specific requirements for growing this plant, hybrid cattleya should be sprayed regularly, which also applies to the dormant period. In addition, the so-called pseudobulbs and leaves should not be allowed to shrink. This shrinkage occurs because the plant does not receive enough water.
Not only the flowers, but also the leaves of hybrid cattleya are endowed with decorative properties. These leaves are green in color; in addition, they will also be quite hard and leathery. The leaves, one or two at a time, are located on bulbs and are lancet-shaped. The plant can bloom in literally any season of the year, depending on the hybrid Cattleya variety itself.
