The middle leaves are oblong-lanceolate, short-petiolate, and crenate-serrate. The upper leaves are lanceolate, sessile, and nearly entire. The inflorescence of the thyme-flowered dragonhead is quite long, denser at the top and more spreading at the bottom. The calyx of this plant is vaguely bilabiate, with the upper tooth three to four times wider than the others. The corolla is quite small, about seven to nine millimeters long, bluish-purple in color, with the lower lip at the base being lighter and dotted with dark spots.

The flowering period of the thyme-flowered dragonhead begins in spring and ends in mid-summer. In the wild, this plant is found in the southern half of European Russia, as well as in Ukraine, Siberia, the Caucasus, and Kazakhstan. The thyme-flowered dragonhead possesses valuable medicinal properties, and its herb is recommended for medicinal purposes. The herb includes the leaves, flowers, and stems. These valuable medicinal properties are due to the presence of flavonoids, essential oil, and flavonoid glycosides. Notably, the essential oil exhibits antibacterial activity.

An infusion made from the thyme-flowered dragonhead is used as a wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic agent for spasmophilia, diarrhea, and various gastrointestinal ailments. Compresses made from the crushed green herb are used for scabies and rheumatism.

For bloating, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on snakehead thyme flower: to prepare such a remedy, take one tablespoon of crushed dry herbs of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for two hours, and then the mixture should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting remedy based on snakehead thyme flower, one third of a glass three to four times a day before meals. It is noteworthy that in order to achieve the greatest effectiveness when taking such a remedy, it is recommended to strictly follow not only all the rules for the preparation of this remedy, but also all the rules for its administration.

To prepare the infusion, you will need to take one tablespoon of the herb of this plant, which should then be infused for two hours in one glass of boiling water in a sealed container, after which it is recommended to strain the resulting mixture very carefully. Take two tablespoons of this remedy, based on snakehead thyme, two tablespoons half an hour before the start of a meal. It should be noted that the chemical composition of this plant has not yet been fully studied, for this reason we can expect the emergence of new ways to use the healing properties of this plant in the near future.
