This plant’s flower heads are cup-shaped, approximately five to eight millimeters long and four to six millimeters wide. These heads are arranged in a more or less dense, spike-shaped inflorescence. The marginal flowers of Artemisia stelleri are pistillate, with about sixteen of them, while the corolla is bare and tubular-conical. The achenes of this plant are three to four millimeters long and less than half a millimeter wide, and these seeds are dark brown in color.

Artemisia stelleri blooms in August. In the wild, this plant is found throughout the Far East, with the exception of the Okhotsk region and the eastern Amur region.
