Chupa Chupa Chupa Chupa

The Chupa Chupa (Latin: Matisia cordata) is a fruit tree belonging to the Malvaceae family, often called the heart-shaped matisia.

Description

The Chupa Chupa is a fast-growing deciduous tree with a straight trunk, reaching heights of forty to forty-five meters. Cultivated forms of this plant rarely exceed twelve meters in height. Each tree is generously covered with numerous heart-shaped leaves, ranging in length from fifteen to thirty centimeters.

The Chupa Chupa fruit is characterized by an elliptical shape, with prominent bulges at its tips. The fruit typically grows from ten to fourteen and a half centimeters in length and up to eight centimeters in width. Its velvety, fairly thick skin is colored in pleasing greenish-brown shades. The orange flesh of the Chupa Chupa boasts a truly incredible juiciness and incomparable aroma. It is quite fibrous in texture and very sweet in taste. Each fruit contains two to five large seeds, from which long fibers emerge that run throughout the fruit. The average weight of a ripe fruit often reaches four hundred grams.

Where it grows

You can easily encounter Chupa Chupa in the wild in Peru and Ecuador, where this unusual tree grows in numerous lowland tropical forests. It also grows in similar conditions in Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil. Chupa Chupa is now being actively introduced as an agricultural crop there. However, it has adapted so well to its very specific environment that any attempts to cultivate it have failed, even in similar climates. Currently, efforts are underway to cultivate Chupa Chupa in the Amazon Basin. Unsurprisingly, this exotic fruit is still unknown in Russia.

Uses

Chupa Chupa is delicious fresh. Chopped fruits are often added to various desserts, appetizers, and fruit salads. Incidentally, it”s recommended to choose fruits with low fiber content for these purposes. Chupa Chupa also produces excellent juice, often added to smoothies, ice cream, and a wide variety of drinks. However, this juice can also be drunk on its own. Chupa Chupa”s calorie content is approximately 64 kcal per 100 g.

Despite the fact that at present the chemical composition of Chupa Chupa has not been studied enough, researchers have been able to establish that it is very rich in fiber, which is why this fruit is very useful for the digestive tract, as it actively helps relieve constipation and normalize intestinal microflora. And the yellow-orange pulp of the unusual fruit is rich in carotene (or provitamin A), which in turn makes Chupa Chupa very beneficial for the skin and strengthening vision. Chupa Chupa also perfectly promotes the regeneration of damaged tissues, has a pronounced general strengthening effect and helps rid the body of excess fluid, toxins and waste.

Contraindications

Chupa Chupa does not have any special contraindications, however, during its use, individual intolerance, manifested in the form of allergic reactions, cannot be ruled out.
