Who would have thought that under such an elaborate name as Pelargonium lies everyone’s favorite Geranium.

Probably every grandmother, yes, and not only, has this flower. Geranium captivates with its unpretentiousness and long flowering period. As a houseplant, geranium appeared in Europe around the seventeenth century. If you want to have a beautiful flower that will always delight you with its appearance, but you don’t know how to care for “green pets,” geranium is your choice.

Surprisingly, this plant seems to be able to withstand everything: wintering in a cold window, long-term lack of watering and vice versa, heat, drafts. Geranium is very easy to grow. It is great for landscaping both window sills and balconies. Initially, before pelargonium became a domesticated plant, it grew on the slopes of the mountains of South Africa, on overdried soils incapable of fertility. As you can see, such conditions are common for pelargonium.

there are several types of geranium. Zonal pelargonium is most often grown indoors. Its leaves are separated by dark concentric circles, and the flowers grow in the shape of a spherical umbrella.
