As for the maximum size in culture, if grown in pots, this plant is capable of forming thickets whose height can reach even forty centimeters. The shoots of this plant are formed on an underground rhizome; for this reason, the thickets of fragrant dichosandra are very reminiscent of a small bamboo grove.

It is important to remember that the plant will require annual replanting or replanting every two years. To replant the plant, it is recommended to use wide, however, relatively shallow pots. This circumstance is due to the fact that the root system of this plant is rather weak. It is recommended to deepen the rhizome of fragrant dichorisandra about two to three centimeters into the ground: such measures will help stimulate the formation of taller and stronger shoots of this plant. To grow fragrant dichorisandra, you will need to prepare the following soil mixture: one part turf soil and one part sand, as well as three parts leaf soil. The acidity of such soil should be slightly acidic.

As for problems with cultivation, it is worth noting that the weak root system of this plant can suffer quite greatly from the fact that the soil dries out. It should also be noted that the fragrant dichorisandra ages quite quickly and loses all its decorative effect, while the lower part of the stems may also become bare. For this reason, short pruning is recommended, which should be done approximately every two to three years. Also, annual pinching of shoots will also help rejuvenate the plant. The risk of plant damage by spider mites increases when air humidity is below sixty percent.

Throughout the rest period, it is important to maintain the air temperature at sixteen to twenty degrees Celsius. Watering will need to be moderate, and air humidity should also be average. In indoor conditions, the period of rest is forced and occurs during the period from October to February. The presence of such a dormant period is explained by the fact that during this period the air humidity and temperature are reduced.
