The leaves of this plant will be oval in shape, these leaves are also fleshy, they are dark green in color, with waxy whitish streaks on top. This plant grows under natural conditions on the islands of the Malay Archipelago, as well as in the tropical zone of Australia and India. The plant owes its name to an English gardener. As for such names as wax ivy and wax ivy, the plant received these names thanks to its dense matte leaves, which seem to be covered with a layer of wax. It is noteworthy that over time the stem of this plant begins to become woody.

The plant blooms with extremely attractive small white flowers; these flowers are connected to the stem and collected in umbrellas. All these flowers consist of five velor and rather voluminous petals, as well as a shiny crown, which is shaped like a star, the base of which will be a rather bright dark red color. In indoor conditions, the plant’s flowering will last for three weeks. It is noteworthy that with the onset of darkness, the flowers begin to smell more fragrant and fragrant.

Care and cultivation of Hoya

A plant such as hoya is recommended to be grown in warm, moderate and cool rooms. It is noteworthy that hoya can easily tolerate very relative dry air. As for the warm season, at this time the plant will grow at a very intensive pace.

Hoya fleshy has pubescent creeping stems, and the flowers will be rather pale, white or pale flesh-colored. Actually, this species is considered the most ornamental plant of this genus. It is noteworthy that this plant tolerates bright light, including direct sunlight. However, especially intense lighting can cause burns on hoyas. For this reason, the most optimal location for hoya is considered to be western and eastern windows. At the same time, the plant will not bloom on northern windows, and if you are going to grow hoya on a southern window, you will need to create diffused lighting, for example, using tulle.
