The sticky gum is one of the plants of the family called Cloveaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Silene viscosa (L.) Pers. (Melandrium viscosum (L.) Celac.).
As for the name of the sticky gum family itself, in Latin it will be: Caryophyllaceae Juss.
Description of gum sticky
The sticky gum is a biennial herbaceous plant that is densely bushy and its height varies between thirty and sixty-five centimeters. The stem of this plant is unbranched and straight. The lower leaves of the sticky gum will be elongated and oblong, the upper leaves are sessile and lanceolate. The inflorescences of this plant will be elongated and multi-flowered, as well as racemose and equipped with opposite semi-umbrellas, which will contain about one to five flowers. The pedicels of the sticky gum will be shortened, while the calyx is tubular, glandular-fluffy, and along the edge it is endowed with a white border. The length of such a cup is about fourteen to nineteen millimeters, and the width is four to five millimeters. The petals of the sticky gum can be colored either yellowish-green or white with a ciliated marigold. The capsule of this plant will be oblong-ovoid in shape and it is endowed with six teeth; the seeds are kidney-shaped, small and colored in light brown tones.
Flowering of sticky gum occurs during the period from May to July. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Caucasus, Western Siberia, Ukraine, Central Asia, the Angara-Sayan region of Eastern Siberia, as well as the following regions of the European part of Russia: Karelo-Murmansk, Baltic, Upper Volga and Volga-Kama regions. For growth, this plant prefers places among steppe vegetation, fields and dry gravelly slopes.
Description of the medicinal properties of gum sticky
The sticky gum is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The term grass includes leaves, stems and flowers. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of vitamin C, alkaloids, coumarins, triterpene saponins, as well as the following flavonoids in this plant: isovitexin, vitexin, homoorientin and orientin.
It is noteworthy that in the Caucasus, an infusion prepared from the herb of this plant is widely used as a very effective emetic.
As an emetic, it is recommended to use the following very effective medicinal product based on this plant: to prepare such a medicinal product, you will need to take one tablespoon of the sticky gum herb in about one glass of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should first be left to infuse for about one hour, after which this mixture based on sticky gum should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting medicinal product based on this plant one to two times a day, regardless of food intake, one tablespoon.
For enemas for constipation, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a medicine you will need to take three tablespoons of dry crushed gum sticky herb per two glasses of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should first be left to infuse for two hours, after which this mixture based on sticky resin must be filtered very carefully.
