Toadflax

Toadflax is one of the plants of the family called Noricaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Linaria acutifolia Fisch. ex Reichenb.
As for the name of the toadflax family itself, in Latin it will be: Scrophulariaceae Juss.
Description of toadflax
Toadflax is a perennial herbaceous plant whose height will vary between twenty-five and sixty centimeters. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the territory of Central Asia, in the Amur region in the Far East, in Eastern Siberia, in Western Siberia, with the exception of the Verkhnetobolsk region, as well as in the European Arctic and in the following regions of the European part of Russia: the Volga-Kama and Dvina-Pechora regions. For growth, this plant prefers meadow steppes, upland and floodplain meadows, coastal slopes, screes, pebbles, coastal slopes, mixed-grass pine-birch forests, rocky placers and railway embankments. This plant can be found in crops as a weed.
Description of the medicinal properties of toadflax
Toadflax is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. It is noteworthy that it is recommended to harvest such raw materials throughout the entire flowering period.
A decoction prepared from the herb of this plant is recommended for use as a laxative and diuretic. In addition, a decoction of the toadflax herb is used for flatulence, liver diseases, and is also used externally for rinsing and as a lotion for ringworm, tonsillitis, eye diseases, scrofula, and also to improve hair growth. It is noteworthy that the experiment showed that an infusion of the herb of this plant has the ability to increase blood pressure, is able to enhance breathing and will increase the pulse wave. It should be noted that toadflax is a very valuable insecticide.
For eye diseases, scrofula, ringworm, tonsillitis, and to improve hair growth, the following highly effective remedy based on this plant is recommended: To prepare this remedy, take two teaspoons of crushed toadflax per 300 milliliters of water. Boil the resulting mixture for approximately three minutes, then let it steep for approximately one hour and strain thoroughly. For all of the above-mentioned ailments, this healing mixture based on this plant is recommended for external use as a rinse or compress. Furthermore, this remedy can also be used as a laxative.
For liver diseases and flatulence, the following remedy based on toadflax is recommended: to prepare this remedy, take one teaspoon of crushed toadflax per one glass of water. The resulting healing mixture should be boiled for about three minutes over fairly low heat, then steeped for one hour, after which the mixture should be thoroughly strained. Take one tablespoon of this toadflax-based remedy two to three times daily. It’s also worth noting that this remedy can also be used as a very effective diuretic.
