Rossica rossica is a member of the Chenopodiaceae family. Its Latin name is Atriplex rosca L.

In the wild, this plant is found in the Caucasus, Crimea, and the Dnieper region of Ukraine, as well as in the European part of Russia in the following areas: Upper Dnieper, Trans-Volga, Lower Don, Upper Volga, Volga-Don, and Lower Volga regions. This plant prefers trashy areas and shallows.
