Eyebright

Eybright is a member of the Scrophulariaceae family. Its Latin name is Euphrasia brevipila L.
As for the family name of eyebright, its Latin name is Scrophulariaceae Juss.
Description of Eyebright
Eybright is an annual herbaceous plant, reaching heights between five and thirty-five centimeters. Its stem is erect, usually branched below the middle. The lower leaves of eyebright are opposite and wedge-shaped, while the middle and upper leaves are ovate and subopposite. Initially, the inflorescence of this plant is compressed, but later it becomes greatly elongated. Eyebright flowers are sessile, with a corolla length of approximately six to ten millimeters. This corolla will have a two-lobed upper lip, while the lower lip is three-lobed. The lower lip of this plant has a yellow spot and blue and purple stripes. The capsule of the breviary eyebright is narrow and wedge-shaped.
This plant blooms from July to October. In the wild, breviary eyebright is found in the European part of Russia, Moldova, Belarus, the Altai and Ob regions of Western Siberia, the Yenisei and Angara-Sayan regions of Eastern Siberia, as well as in Crimea, the Carpathians, and the Dnieper region of Ukraine. This plant prefers meadows.
Description of the medicinal properties of breviary eyebright
Breviary eyebright has very valuable medicinal properties, and the herb is recommended for medicinal purposes. The herb includes flowers, leaves, and stems. Its valuable medicinal properties are explained by the plant’s content of phenolic acids, flavonoids, coumarins, tannins, carotenoids, the iridoid aucubin, and isocatalpol.
It should be noted that this plant has properties similar to those of Euphrasia rostkovii. Furthermore, in medicinal infusions, Euphrasia brevifolia is recommended for neuroses, cystitis, and various heart conditions, and is also used as a diuretic for postpartum uteroptosis.
It should be noted that in experimental hepatitis, the dry extract of this plant has the ability to induce the microsomal oxidation system, and will also promote liver regeneration.
For neurosis and eclampsia, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a healing remedy, you should take twenty grams of dry crushed eyebright herb in half a liter of boiling water. The resulting healing agent should be left to infuse for about three to four hours, after which such a mixture based on this plant should be filtered very carefully. It is noteworthy that in addition to the above diseases, such a healing remedy based on short-haired eyebright can also be used as a diuretic. It is recommended to take this medicine three to four times a day, half a glass or one third of a glass. It is important to remember that in order to achieve the greatest effectiveness when taking a remedy based on short-haired eyebright, it is recommended to follow not only all the rules for preparing such a remedy, but also follow all the rules for its administration.
