Therapeutic dentistry is a part of medicine, and its main objectives are diagnosis, dental treatment and prevention of oral diseases. She studies the causes of disease development, etiology and prognosis of recovery.

Areas of therapeutic dentistry
The therapeutic direction of dentistry is one of the most important areas, as it helps to achieve high-quality prevention of oral diseases and their possible complications.
The main areas of activity are the following:

- Study, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of worms as one of the most common dental diseases;
- Treatment and prevention of inflammatory lesions of soft tissues of the oral cavity;
- Carrying out endodontic procedures aimed at eliminating pathological foci near the roots and root tissues of teeth;
- Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of asymptomatic diseases of hard dental tissues;
- Treatment of gums and prevention of major periodontal diseases;
- Restoration of tooth crowns destroyed by various materials;
- Aesthetic impact on the anatomical structure of enamel.
Children’s dentistry Volgograd is engaged in the same activity, but the reception of small patients is carried out individually. The treatment of dental diseases in children differs from the treatment of adults.
Diagnosis of diseases in therapeutic dentistry
Two groups help to identify oral pathology: the first is the main type; the second is dental pathology of the oral cavity. Here it is:
- Amnesia of the disease. It is important for the doctor to determine when and how the problem appeared and what the complaints are;
- Oral examination. The dentist conducts a visual examination, determining the condition of the mucous membranes and teeth. Inflammations, areas of injury and foci of pathological deposits are identified;
- Instrumental Research. Dental mirrors and probes are mainly used. Mirrors allow you to further explore difficult areas. The probes are examined for sensitivity, consistency and depth in the affected areas. Special probes are used to identify periodontal pockets. This method allows you to identify and clarify the diagnosis of caries and pneumonia;
- Temperature measurement. This is a determination of the reaction of the dental pulp to temperature stimuli. In this way, the dentist can diagnose pulp, caries or periodontitis;
- Significant staining. It is used for suspected caries and non-potential lesions of hard dental tissues. Special dyes are applied to the affected areas of enamel and washed off with water. In the presence of demineralization, the enamel becomes stained.

Diagnosis of oral diseases is also carried out using additional research methods. In therapeutic dentistry these include:
- Electroodontodiagnosis. This method is aimed at testing the sensitivity of the nerve endings of the pulp to currents of low intensity and voltage. The higher the electroodontodiagnosis index, the more intense the damage;
- X-ray examination. Indicated as a necessary procedure for apical periodontitis, aimed at clarifying the nature of inflammation. If dental treatment of a carious cavity was carried out, radiography allows you to determine the quality of the filling. To examine the salivary glands, a contrast agent is first administered;
- Experimental Methods. The goal is to determine the condition of the internal fluid saliva, blood and urine. In case of lesions of the oral mucosa, it is necessary to perform abrasion to determine the microflora and select appropriate drugs for treatment.
The Ministry of Treatment focuses on maintaining the health of teeth and other oral organs. Timely assistance is provided to prevent the development of complications and premature loss of retention.
