The beautiful pikulnik is one of the plants of the family called Lamiaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Galeopsis speciosa Mill. (G. versicolor Curt.).
As for the name of the beautiful pikulnik family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Lamiaceae Lindl. (Labiatae Juss.).
Description of the beautiful pikulnik
The beautiful pikulnik is an annual herbaceous plant, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty and one hundred centimeters. The stem of this plant will be branched for the most part, tetrahedral and erect; under the nodes such a stem is thickened, it is covered with hard bristles that will protrude slightly downwards. The leaves of this plant are opposite, they can be either rhombic or ovate-lanceolate, in addition they will be jagged-serrate, while the upper leaves will be endowed with short and winged petioles. The flowers of the beautiful pikulnik are endowed with a two-lipped corolla, they are painted in yellow tones, while the middle blade of the lower lip will be purple in color, and at the pharynx itself there is a bright yellow pharynx. The upper lip of this plant will be concave, at the very top it will be unequally toothed, and on the outside it will be hairy.
This plant blooms from mid-summer to late autumn. Under natural conditions, the beautiful pikulnik is found in the south of Siberia, Belarus, Ukraine, the European part of Russia, with the exception of only the Far North.
Description of the medicinal properties of beautiful pikulnik
Beautiful pikulnik is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The term grass includes flowers, stems and leaves. It is recommended to harvest such healing raw materials throughout the entire flowering period of this plant.
As for traditional medicine, here this plant is quite widespread. Externally, such healing agents are used for scrofulosis, furunculosis, sore throat and eczema. In Belarus, a decoction based on the herb of this plant is used for stomach ulcers.
It is noteworthy that the beautiful pikulnik is also used as food for geese. It should be noted that this plant is not only a very valuable honey plant, but will also be a poisonous plant. In this case, the seeds of the beautiful pikulnik will be poisonous.
For bronchial asthma, it is recommended to use the following very effective medicinal remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a medicinal remedy, you will need to take one tablespoon of crushed dry grass of the beautiful pikulnik for one glass of boiling water. The resulting healing agent should be infused for about two hours, after which it is recommended to strain this medicinal mixture very carefully. Take the resulting healing remedy based on the beautiful pikulnik three times a day, one or two tablespoons.
Externally, for furunculosis and eczema, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take three tablespoons of dry crushed herb beautiful pikulnik for half a liter of water. This mixture is boiled for five minutes, then left for two hours and filtered. It should be noted that this healing remedy based on beautiful pikulnik is very effective.
