Securinega subshrub is a spreading dioecious subshrub, the height of which varies between one and a half and three meters. Numerous young shoots of this plant will be twig-like and thin, they are painted in light yellow tones. At the same time, the older branches of Securinega subshrub are endowed with gray bark. The leaves of this plant are colored in light green tones, they are entire, bare, alternate, and can be either oval or lanceolate in shape. In addition, such leaves will be short-petioled and endowed with small and leathery stipules. The length of the Securinega subshrub blade is about one to seven centimeters, and the width will be equal to half a centimeter to three and a half centimeters. The flowers of this plant are unisexual, rather inconspicuous, axillary, and are colored green or yellow-green. The pistillate flowers of Securinega subshrub will be staminate and solitary, and they are arranged in bunches. The fruit of this plant is a rounded, three-lobed, flattened, drooping, three-lobed capsule on top, which is endowed with six seeds. Securinega subshrub seeds, in turn, will be obtusely triangular, their length is about two millimeters.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the southeast of the Daursky region of Eastern Siberia, Primorye and the Amur region of the Far East. To grow, Securinega subshrub prefers the banks and dry beds of rivers and streams, rocks, forest edges and sand and pebble deposits. It is noteworthy that this plant grows not only singly, but also in small groups. In addition, Securinega subshrub is not only an ornamental, but also a very poisonous plant. The plant is included in the list of rare and endangered species.

Description of the medicinal properties of Securinega subshrub

Securinega subfructosa possesses valuable medicinal properties. Preparations based on this plant are indicated for weakened cardiac function, neurasthenia with fatigue, and are also used as a tonic for asthenic conditions. Furthermore, such preparations are highly effective for paresis, flaccid paralysis, including residual polio, chronic alcoholism, limb fractures, food poisoning, burns, and impotence associated with various functional nervous disorders.

However, it should be noted that excessive doses of Securinega subfructosa preparations can cause quite severe poisoning. However, there are a number of contraindications to taking this remedy, including pregnancy, epilepsy, hypertension, bronchial asthma, thyrotoxicosis, hepatitis, angina, and acute and chronic nephritis.

Securinine nitrate tablets should be taken for approximately twenty to thirty days, one tablet two to three times daily. It is important to note that these tablets should be stored in a cool, dry place, and carefully protected from light.
