The stems and branches are either downy-shaggy or soft-hairy, it is noteworthy that this applies especially to the lower part of the stems of this plant. The leaves of Carpesium drooping can be either elliptical or oblong-lanceolate, and at the top such leaves are slightly pointed. At the very base, the lower and middle leaves of this plant will be wedge-shaped and tapered into petioles that are shorter than the blade. The upper leaves of Carpesium drooping will be sessile on a wedge-shaped, narrowed base, and all leaves on both sides are both prizate-hairy and finely punctate glandular. The flower baskets of this plant will be somewhat compressed and drooping; they are located singly on the slightly swollen and bent downward tips of the branches of the Carpesium drooping stem. The flowers of this plant are yellow in color and the achenes of this plant are fusiform and triangular.

Flowering of Carpesium drooping occurs during the period from July to September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Central Asia and the Far East. As for the general distribution, this plant can be found in Central Europe, the Balkans, India, Asia Minor, the Western Mediterranean, Pakistan, Japan, China, Korea, Nepal and Tibet.
