The bracts of this plant are colored brownish-gray.
This plant blooms in the spring. Under natural conditions, multi-spike cotton grass is found in Siberia, the Caucasus, Belarus, Ukraine, the Far East and the European part of Russia. For growth, this plant prefers the tundra, swampy forests, swamps, banks of reservoirs and damp meadows.
Description of the medicinal properties of cotton grass
