The Crimean rose is one of the plants of the family called Rosaceae; in Latin the name of this plant will be as follows: Rosa gallica L.
As for the name of the Crimean rose family itself, in Latin it will be: Rosaceae Juss.
Description of the Crimean rose
Crimean rose is a perennial branched shrub, the height of which will fluctuate between one and a half and two and a half meters. The root of this plant is a taproot and will penetrate the soil to a depth of approximately five meters. Young shoots of the Crimean rose can be painted in both light green and green tones, but with age such shoots will turn brown and take on an ash-gray color. The stems of this plant are covered with thorns of different shapes and sizes. The leaves of the Crimean rose are compound, long-petiolate, alternate and imparipinnate. The flowers will be quite large and will reach about seven to eight centimeters in diameter. Such Crimean rose flowers are double or semi-double; they will be collected in umbellate-paniculate inflorescences. The leaves of this plant are colored red or pink and are endowed with a very pleasant aroma. The stamens and pistils will be numerous, but the fruit is seedless and false, it is pear-shaped or oval in shape, and colored in red or brown-red tones.
The Crimean rose blooms from the end of May to the beginning of June. Actually, the duration of flowering of this plant will be directly dependent on the meteorological conditions of the year.
Description of the medicinal properties of the Crimean rose
The Crimean rose is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the petals of this plant for medicinal purposes. Such medicinal raw materials should be collected throughout the flowering period in the early morning.
The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of eugenol, geraniol, citronellol, phenylethyl alcohol and rose essential oil in the petals of this plant. Crimean rose petals contain sugars, polyphenols, saponins, lactones and cardiac glycosides, the flavonoid quercetin, anthocyanin glycoside, catechin and tannin substances.
Crimean rose oil, when taken orally, has the ability to calm inflammation of the stomach, provide a laxative effect, soothe pain and strengthen the body. In addition, this oil of this plant is effective for intestinal ulcers, colic and intestinal pain. Lubricating sore spots with rose oil from this plant will help promote the growth of new tissue, dry out wet wounds and ulcers, and eliminate putrefactive substances in them.
