Description of the Canadian serviceberry

The Canadian serviceberry is a perennial shrub or tree, the height of which can reach even eighteen meters, but usually the height of this plant will not exceed seven meters. The plant will be endowed with oval, sharp or pointed thin leaves, and when blooming from below, such leaves will be covered with brownish felt. However, it should be noted that such felt will disappear very quickly. The flowers of Canadian serviceberry are found in erect or slightly drooping sparse racemes. The fruits of this plant are dark purple in color, with a slightly bluish tinge.

This plant is most often cultivated in the European part of Russia and Ukraine. The Canadian serviceberry is native to North America, where this plant prefers dry deciduous forests to grow.

Description of the medicinal properties of Canadian shadberry

The Canadian irga is endowed with very valuable healing properties, and it is recommended to use the fruits and flowers of this plant for medicinal purposes.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of coloring and tannins, organic acids, carotene, sugar and ascorbic acid in the fruits of this plant. It should be noted that in terms of their taste and nutritional qualities, the fruits of this plant will be quite close to the fruits of the common serviceberry. Actually, it is for this reason that the fruits of this plant can be used on a par with the fruits of the common serviceberry. It was experimentally established that both an infusion and a tincture prepared from the flowers of the Canadian serviceberry can have a tonic effect on the heart and will lead to a very significant decrease in blood pressure. It is important to note that the effect of the infusion is more pronounced; for this reason, it is recommended to use the infusion of Canadian serviceberry as a very effective cardiotonic agent. A decoction based on the leaves of this plant can be used externally as a rinse for sore throats and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, as well as in the form of washes for faster healing of wounds.

For hypertension, the following highly effective remedy based on Canadian amelanchier is recommended: to prepare this remedy, take one tablespoon of this plant’s flowers per cup of boiling water. Let the resulting mixture steep for two hours, then strain thoroughly. Take one or two tablespoons three to four times daily. It’s important to remember that to ensure maximum effectiveness when taking this remedy, you must strictly adhere not only to all the instructions for preparing the Canadian amelanchier remedy, but also to all the instructions for taking it.

This remedy can also be applied externally: to prepare it, take two tablespoons of dried, crushed leaves per two cups of boiling water. Cover the mixture with a lid and a towel, then let it steep for half an hour. This warm solution of this Amelanchier canadensis decoction should be used to wash wounds or gargle six to eight times a day. It should be noted that the use of such remedies is characterized by a fairly high degree of effectiveness.
