Description of Lothrum virgatum

Lothrum virgatum is a perennial herbaceous plant, reaching heights between thirty centimeters and two meters. The rootstock is woody, the plant is glabrous, and glaucous or light green in color. The stem is erect, tetrahedral in the upper part, and branched in a rod-like fashion. The leaves are opposite, oblong, or lanceolate in shape. Flowers, two to three in axils, are borne on the bracts, with a pinkish-purple corolla. The petals of the purple loosestrife are oblong-elliptical, seven to nine millimeters long and about two and a half to four millimeters wide. The capsule of this plant can be either elongated-ovate or cylindrical. The capsule of purple loosestrife is about four to five millimeters long and about two to two and a half millimeters wide.

The flowering of purple loosestrife coincides with the fruiting season, which begins in June and continues until August. In the wild, this plant can be found in Moldova, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Central Europe, northern Mongolia, as well as in the southern Ob region of Western Siberia, in the Black Sea and Volga regions of European Russia, in the Carpathian Mountains and Black Sea region of Ukraine, and in Eastern Siberia in the Yenisei and Angara-Sayan regions. This plant prefers to grow along riverbanks and lakes, along irrigation ditches, on the edges of swamps, in floodplain meadows, as well as in lowlands, damp areas, and among pine forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of Lythrum victoria

Lythrum victoria has very valuable medicinal properties, and it is the herb of this plant that is recommended for medicinal purposes. The herb includes the leaves, flowers, and stems of this plant.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of organic acids, essential oil, tannins, steroids, anthocyanins and polyuroid carbohydrate in this plant. A decoction, infusion of herbs and flowers of this plant is recommended for use for pneumonia, bronchitis and various respiratory infections.

For all of these diseases, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on loosestrife: to prepare it, you will need to take one tablespoon of dry crushed herb of this plant per glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for two hours, and then this mixture is carefully filtered. This remedy should be taken one third of a glass or half a glass three times a day half an hour before meals.

For bronchitis, pneumonia and acute respiratory diseases, you should use a very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy, take one teaspoon of dry crushed flowers of the common loosestrife in one glass of boiling water, infuse this mixture for one hour, after which the resulting mixture is carefully filtered. Take this remedy one-third of a glass or half a glass three times a day.
