It should be noted that young specimens of this plant will require annual replanting for favorable development. As for older specimens of Epipremnum aureus, it will be enough to replant them once every few years, and preference should be given to pots of standard proportions. As for the composition of the soil mixture itself, you will need to mix one part sand, three parts leaf soil and two parts turf soil. The acidity of this soil should be either neutral or slightly acidic.

It should be noted that if the plant receives insufficient lighting, the variegation of this crop will be lost. When Epipremnum aureus receives excess water on the leaves, brown spots may appear. In some cases, this plant can be affected by mealybugs and spider mites.

Throughout the entire dormant period, Epipremnum aureus needs to provide optimal temperature conditions between sixteen and twenty-two degrees Celsius. In this case, watering should be moderate, and the degree of air humidity can remain standard. When growing indoors, such a dormant period is forced: this period will begin in October and last until February. The occurrence of this period should be associated with insufficient air humidity and low light levels.

Epipremnum aureus is propagated by rooting cuttings. Such rooting should be carried out either in water or in a mixture consisting of peat and sand in equal proportions. The specific requirements of this culture include the urgent need of shoots for support.

The leaves of Epipremnum aureus are endowed with decorative properties. The leaves of young plants of Epipremnum aureus are heart-shaped, and the length of these leaves will be about twenty centimeters. It is noteworthy that the leaves are colored not only in green tones, but are also endowed with golden or white variegation. In adult forms, the leaves will be very large, their length can reach approximately sixty centimeters, while the width will be about forty centimeters. The leaves of this plant are endowed with quite numerous holes, which will be located along the main vein. In fact, such leaves will practically not develop in culture.
